A man places some flowers on the grave of his dearly departed mother
and started back toward hi car when his attention was diverted to another man kneeling at
a grave. The man seemed to be praying with profound intensity and kept repeating,
"Why did you have to die? Why did you have to die?"
The First man approached him and
said, "Sir, I don't wish to interfere with you private grief, but this demonstration
of pain is more than I've ever seen before. For whom do you mourn so deeply?
A child? A parent?"
The mourner took a moment to
collect himself, then replied, "My wife's first husband". |
| A soldier serving overseas far from home was annoyed and upset when his
girl wrote about breaking off their engagement and asking for her photograph back.
He went out and collected from
his friends all the unwanted photographs of women that he could find, bundled them, all
together and sent them back with a note saying:
"Regret, cannot remember
which one is you -- please keep your photo and return the others".

A very religious man lived right
next door to an atheist. While the religious one prayed day in, day out, and was
constantly on his knees in communion with his Lord, the atheist never even looked twice at
a church.
However, the atheist's life was
good, he had a well-paying job and a beautiful wife, and his children were healthy and
good - natured, whereas the prious man's job was strenuous and his wages were low, his
wife was getting fatter every day and his kids wouldn't give him the time of the day.
So one day, deep in prayer as
usual, he raised his eyes towards heaven and asked: "Oh God, I honor you every day, I
ask your advice for every problem and confess to you my every sin. Yet my neighbor,
who doesn't even believe in you and certainly never prays, seems blessed with every
happiness, while I go poor and suffer many an indignity. Why is his? "And a
great voice was heard from above "BECAUSE HE DOES NOT BOTHER ME ALL THE
TIME!" |
